Step 1

First, you need to close the grill and unplug it. Let it cool down for a while before cleaning. In fact, it is best to clean it sometime after use, while it is still warm. This first step is very important for your safety.

Step 2

For small indoor grills, you can use a rubber spatula to scrape off the food residue on the grill plate. This is the spatula that these grills usually come with, but you can use anything in the kitchen. Do not scrape with a cleaning pad because it will damage the non-stick layer.

If you want to clean an outdoor grill, you can use a stainless steel brush because it is stronger and therefore more effective. You should scrape it while it is hot so that the meat sticking to the grate can easily fall off. The removable liner of the outdoor electric grill should also be removed and smoothed with a rubber spatula.

Step 3

Now is the cleaning part, because you need to thoroughly clean the removable part of the electric grill with dish soap. The grill on the indoor electric grill may not be removable. Just use a wet sponge and a little dish soap. When cleaning the upper grill, make sure that the drip tray is not removed.

On the outdoor grill, you can remove the grate and lining, and wash with water and soap. Wash thoroughly with soapy water and scrape if necessary. If you wash for a long time, it may be difficult to remove all the grease. This is why we recommend that you clean it regularly, especially the detachable parts.

Step 4

Once you have washed the grill, you can remove the drip tray and empty it. Now clean thoroughly with sponge/cloth and soap.

Depending on your electric grill model, you can clean the grill or tray in the dishwasher. Check the user manual of your electric grill and follow the correct steps for cleaning these parts in the dishwasher. However, you should still use a rubber spatula to scrape off the surface before inserting the gasket.

Step 5

Once the grill and drip tray are very clean, you should dry them with a cloth or paper towel. When you put it back on the grill, make sure it is completely dry.

Step 6

You should also wipe the lid of the electric grill with a damp cloth. Do not immerse it in water, only clean it with a soft cloth.

Pro tip: You need to clean the grill manually with minimal water. Only detachable parts can be immersed in water. Never immerse the entire device in water or spray large amounts of water. This is a non-waterproof appliance, and immersion in water may damage the heating element of the grill.
